The Nestucca Ridge Family of Companies is an organically grown collection of coastal businesses dedicated to memory-making beach vacations, dining experiences and meeting opportunities for visitors, guests, and local residents.

Kiwanda Hospitality Group/Pelican Brewing Company (KHG) is our Payroll Entity and therefore all of our team members work for KHG, but are assigned (leased) to one of the entities in the Nestucca Ridge Family of Companies.


Position Title: Payroll & Benefits Administrator


Summary of the Position:

The Payroll & Benefits Administrator will oversee and supervise the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations, and ensures that all team member benefits are administered appropriately and equitably for all team members and the company.


Key Accountabilities:


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Trains and provides mentoring for new staff in the department.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely input to management regarding the job performance of others in the department.

Other Accountabilities

  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, tips and other
  • Verifies accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Stays current with, and ensures compliance with, federal, state, and local payroll, wage & hour laws, taxes and best practices.
  • Process accounting transactions related to payroll financial reporting in accounting software. 
  • Enter, reconcile differences, and pay bills related to employee benefits, medical, dental, vision, 401k, etc.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Work with various agencies to provide data during audits and labor statistic reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll and benefits functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong mentoring and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Payroll and Benefits software, Accounting software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • Three to five years of related experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, must be able to lift 15 pounds.
