Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced senior accountant to lead our day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial records, support audits, and help improve accounting processes. You’ll work closely with accounting leadership to maintain compliance and provide insights to inform business decisions.

 

This position will support our Accounting team.  It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office 3 days per week.  This position is based out of Philadelphia, PA.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage closing procedures, such as preparing and posting journal entries.
  • Perform regular financial analysis, such as variance analysis, to identify trends, forecast future performance, and advise management on business decisions.
  • Maintain and reconcile all general ledger accounts, bank statements, and other financial records.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure financial records and procedures comply with GAAP and other legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Delegate tasks, and mentor and train junior accounting staff, reviewing their work for accuracy. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Degree in accounting and three or more years of experience working as an accountant.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities to interpret complex financial data.
  • A high degree of accuracy and meticulousness for maintaining precise financial records.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain financial data to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • The ability to provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
