(Based on qualifications/experience)

Paygrade/Salary: G-$36,022,  I-$42,536

Job Code(s): GSP120 or GSP121

Position Duties

  • Serves 14-county health district
  • Assesses training needs of staff and community partners
  • Plans and/or coordinates training sessions, drills, and exercises for the agency and its partners.
  • Utilizes exercises meeting state and federal guidelines/standards as training activities
  • Evaluates training and learning outcomes
  • Participates in general Emergency Preparedness planning and response activities 
  • May require weekend and/or evening work
  • Provides excellent customer service and maintains HIPAA standards
  • Responds to Public Health Emergencies

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and one year of experience providing educational, training, or instructional services in Emergency Preparedness. Physical Requirements include occasional lifting of up to 45 lbs.

  • College Degree in a related area
  • Previous employment with any state’s Department of Public Health or a County Board of Health  
  • Computer skills (Office suite)
  • Greater than one year of experience providing education, training, or instructional services in functional area
  • The ability to hitch, tow, and back a trailer
  • Experience developing collaborations/partnerships
  • Emergency Preparedness Experience
  • NIMS/ICS Courses: 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800
  • WEBEOC, GHA911, and ReadyOp Communication system experience
  • Bilingual-Spanish and English


A State Merit Application for Employment must be received by this office no later than the deadlineHighlight any experience related to the Preferred Qualifications. This Position may require driving company vehicles (Valid driver’s license required) and working some evenings and weekends during special events such as health fairs and responding to disasters. Selected applicant must consent to a motor vehicle record assessment. Points should be less than 10 and/or not negatively impact insurance rates for the agency. Drug screen, criminal background check and immunization records may be required.
