Roofing Design Intern en NTH Consultants, Ltd.

Description

•   Independently observe on-site building enclosure construction operations, documenting, and summarizing on-site activities, compliance of operations with project requirements, and other pertinent data. 
• Complete and submit accurate field reports on a daily basis. 
• Will be required to perform job duties at construction sites, during non-standard work hours, as necessary, including weekends. Also, ability to work in adverse weather conditions, including heat, sun, and rain.    

NOTE: This is a seasonal position for Summer 2026. Applicants must be located within commuting distance of our Northville, MI office. 

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Two years of college in Architecture, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent curriculum desired.  
• Any building enclosure-related and/or construction industry experience is preferable.  
• Good understanding of basic engineering concepts and office operation concepts. 
• Ability to work in AutoCAD and basic understanding of how to produce Construction Drawings is preferable. 
• Willingness and ability to work on construction sites. 
• Ability to read and interpret design drawings and construction documents. 
• Must have strong written and oral communication skills, be able to work in a team environment as well as independently, demonstrated team-oriented approach to problem-solving, and have strong interpersonal skills for contact with clients and fellow engineers.  
• Exceptional time management skills, with ability to manage multiple assignments. 
• Accuracy, dependability, and strong organizational skills.  
• Must be comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights.  
• Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. 
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation to get to and work at multiple job sites in and out of state.
