The Family Preservation Specialist (FPS) will work for the F&CS Parenting in Jail program, delivering services to justice-involved individuals using evidence-based Parenting Inside Out® (PIO) curriculum. PIO is a parent management skills training program created for the unique situation and issues of parents involved in the criminal legal system. This role will be responsible for facilitating Parenting in Jail classes and visits with minor children in counties surrounding to Tulsa. Delivery of services to individuals will take place in community- and jail-based settings. The service area includes counties surrounding the Tulsa Metro: Cherokee, Creek, Muskogee, Okmulgee, Osage, Pawnee, Payne, Rogers, Wagoner, and Washington.
- Associate Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Social Work combined with two years experience in social services field is preferred.
- Preferred work experience working with youth/adults/families, case management/home visitation, skills in group facilitation, knowledge of community resources;
- Must have strong communication skills; ability to handle multiple tasks; strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work across cultures with skill in developing respectful relationships with families.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record and use personal automobile.
CCBHC Model of Care
Family & Children’s Services works to heal hurting and abused children, strengthen families, and provide hope and a path to recovery for those battling mental illness and addiction. You will be working in an innovative and dynamic environment using a new transformative model of care Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). This model is characterized by innovative, team-based approach and whole person care for adults and children with a range of complex mental health and substance use challenges.
Utilizing multi-disciplinary teams, staff work collaboratively to provide a coordinated effort to enhance client recovery. Robust CCBHC services often result in better client outcomes and quality of care due to:
- Increased access to care and crisis services
- Expanded traditional community mental health and substance use services.
- Added Care Coordination and physical health screening for mental health clients
- Greater access to Social Services for clients’ economic and social needs
- Increased specialized services for veterans, those most in need, and those impacted by the opioid crisis.
