Job Description/Responsibilities

The Materials Planner develops and maintains a best-in-class supply planning process to ensure accurate material supply plans and supplier capacity alignment. This role supports short- and long-term material availability, driving efficiency and reliability across the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement materials supply planning strategies to ensure timely and efficient delivery of all supply categories to meet production requirements.
  • Measure, track, and improve supply plan accuracy; identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Build and lead a cross-functional supply planning team to implement best practices across production facilities.
  • Maintain effective use and configuration of MRP systems, ensuring accurate data and timely issue resolution.
  • Develop and manage an obsolete parts process to minimize waste and liability.
  • Incorporate forecasted and short-notice material needs into supply plans in advance of supplier lead times; collaborate with suppliers to mitigate risks and prevent stockouts.
  • Integrate New Brand Development (NBD) material needs into plans, engaging in the NBD process to support realistic project timelines.
  • Review supplier 12-month rolling inventory, demand, and supply plans; identify gaps, address capacity constraints, and escalate capital investment needs as required.
  • Partner with suppliers to align on measurement methods, reviews, and reporting standards.
  • Design and implement supply planning processes, KPIs, and reporting tools to ensure consistency across the business.

Qualifications/Requirements

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of supply chain experience
  • 2+ years working with ERP, MRP, MPS, or WMS systems
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

  • Experience implementing integrated planning/forecasting systems
  • 2+ years using CPFR (Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment) systems
  • 2+ years purchasing materials in food, beverage, or packaged goods manufacturing
  • In person job attendance (hybrid)

 

Placement within the salary range is calculated based upon years of directly relatable experience for the position.
