Are you a meticulous individual with a passion for precision and a knack for machinery? We're looking for a dedicated Sphere Operator to join our manufacturing team here at Hultec. You will play a crucial role in creating high-quality spherical products. If you thrive in a detail-oriented environment and are committed to excellence, we want to hear from you!

About the Role

As a Sphere Operator at Hultec, you'll be at the heart of our production process, responsible for the precise operation of specialized machinery that crafts our spherical components. Your keen eye for detail and understanding of mechanics will ensure every product meets our strict quality and dimensional specifications. You'll be setting up equipment, monitoring production, and performing essential quality checks using a variety of measuring tools.

Must check temperature on the machine, prep all materials, then prep the mold, add rubber, and start press machine. Once press machine is done with it’s cycle, then remove top and bottom spheres, assemble, then grind the sphere.
  • Quality Champion: There are 3 different quality checks.  First add the information from the work order, QC the product, then add caution stickers.
  • Process Pro: While machine is pressing the rubber sphere, it is required to inspect the machine and make sure the process is going as instructed.
  • Material Handler: Materials handler will distribute the rubber/raw materials.  All materials must be handle carefully.
  • Safety First: Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and contribute to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Team Player: Report major malfunctions to maintenance and keep your workspace clean and organized.

What We're Looking For

  • Mechanical Aptitude: A strong understanding of machine operation, mechanics, and the ability to set up, adjust, and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Precision Skills: Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) and the ability to interpret and apply dimensional tolerances.
  • Exceptional Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in inspecting and measuring, with the ability to spot subtle imperfections and follow precise instructions.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. Vocational training or technical certifications in machining or a related field are a plus!
  • Experience: Prior experience operating precision machinery is highly desirable. Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred, especially with grinding or other precise machining.

Working Environment & Physical Requirements

This full-time role is performed in a dynamic manufacturing environment. You should be comfortable:

  • Standing & Walking: Regularly standing and walking for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours/day) on hard surfaces.
  • Lifting: Frequently lifting and/or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Movement: Frequently bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and reaching to access materials and operate equipment.
  • Dexterity: Regularly using hands for fine motor tasks, handling tools, and grasping items.
  • Vision & Hearing: Possessing specific vision abilities (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception) and the ability to hear and speak clearly for communication and safety.
  • Environment: Working in an environment that may have varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to dust. We prioritize your safety with proper ventilation and mandatory PPE.

Why Join Our Team?

We are committed to maintaining the highest quality standards, including adherence to ISO 9001 requirements. Your role will directly contribute to our success in process control, accurate documentation, and continuous improvement.
