Curia Global, Inc. (Rensselaer, NY) seeks a Senior Analytical Method Development Analyst. Responsible for support of the manufacturing department and external customers. The routine functions of the laboratory are testing of raw materials, in-process, end product, and stability samples, along with particulate testing and tests plant water for production. Responsible for the design, development, validation and implementation of analytical procedures.
Specifically, the Senior Analytical Method Development Analyst will perform the following duties:
• Understand the tests necessary to characterize an API and continually expands technical knowledge;
• Apply research knowledge to plan and manage project for self and direct reports, and develop strategies that guide the project;
• Propose new initiatives;
• Assist and lead direct reports and team members in problem-solving and new methodology;
• Provide new ideas based on interpretation of data and develop technical solutions to complex problems;
• Perform complex Liquid/Gas Chromatography and UPLC trouble shooting;
• Interact with outside departments including attending meetings, providing updates, etc.;
• Participate in technical discussions with customers about analytical issues;
• Provide training to others as, attend internal and external training on related subjects, including both intra- and inter-departmental cross-training on new techniques and procedures;
• Implement work plans; conduct performance reviews with the assistance of a higher-level manager, identify and recommend career development opportunities with employees;
• Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment;
• Lead exchange of research information through technical assistance and instruction;
• Contribute to and/or edit publications, reports or experimental protocols and make presentations for this information;
• Assist in contract and proposal development;
• Plan work to meet project(s) objectives and deadlines for self and direct reports; assess the needs of and make changes to process, work flow and/or assignments;
• Coordinate assignments for direct reports also on research project(s);
• Utilize all available techniques and analytical instrumentation for monitoring laboratory experiments and the analysis of products effectively;
• Manage workload and time to perform multiple projects effectively;
• Recommend and implement methods to increase the quality of products and/or services;
• Create or validate hypotheses through data collection and analysis with goals of description, explanation, predication and decision making;
• Act as a technical consultant;
• Conduct laboratory operations in a safe manner;
• Maintain familiarity with the Chemical Hygiene Plan;
• Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices; and
• Follow responsible actions regarding chemical disposal. Maintain compliance with all regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
REQUIREMENTS A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry or a related field. Eight (8) years of experience as an analyst, expert in science, or related position, which includes six (6) years of experience with the following:
• Performing testing of in-process and stability samples;
• Conducting analytical method development; method transfer and method validations; and
• Utilizing techniques and analytical instrumentation, such as HPLC, UPLC, GC, UV and KF Auto-Titrators.

A Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry or a related field. Six (6) years of experience as an analyst, expert in science, or related position, which includes six (6) years of experience with the following:
• Performing testing of in-process and stability samples;
• Conducting analytical method development; method transfer and method validations; and
• Utilizing techniques and analytical instrumentation, such as HPLC, UPLC, GC, UV and KF Auto-Titrators.
RATE OF PAY: $134,597/year
