About Us
We are a high-performance Formula One Team driven by innovation, precision, and passion. Our Control Systems group is responsible for developing and maintaining the software and hardware that manage key vehicle systems, including power unit control, chassis systems, and data acquisition. As a Control Systems Intern, you’ll be part of a team that ensures the car responds precisely to driver inputs and engineering strategies.
The Role
As a Control Systems Intern, you’ll support the development, testing, and deployment of control software and hardware across the car. You’ll work closely with software engineers, electronics designers, and vehicle performance teams to ensure systems are reliable, responsive, and compliant with F1 regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the development and validation of control algorithms and software
Support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and calibration activities
Help maintain documentation and configuration of control systems
Contribute to fault diagnosis and performance optimisation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration
Who We’re Looking For
Currently studying a degree in Electrical, Electronic, Automotive, Mechatronics, or Motorsport Engineering and seeking an industry placement in your penultimate year of university
Strong understanding of control theory, embedded systems, and vehicle dynamics
Experience with programming languages
Familiarity with automotive control systems and data acquisition tools
Passion for motorsport and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset
You must have the right to work in the UK as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role
Be available to attend onsite for an assessment centre in October
