Our opportunity

We are seeking a Community Programs Coordinator to join our team on a casual basis. You will assist in the delivery of community and resident-focused activities and events in Mirvac’s Smiths Lane estate, Clyde North. You will be part of a small team and work closely with Smiths Lane’s Community Development Officer to plan and implement a range events and programs that support community connection and wellbeing. You will work at events, programmed activities and community space bookings to ensure they run as planned. You will also have opportunities to assist with general administrative duties such as event planning, marketing, customer relations, partnerships and data management. This is a flexible role with site-based tasks in Clyde North.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the delivery of a year-round calendar of programs, events and initiatives designed to activate Smiths Lane’s community spaces, including Smiths Social Space, open spaces and parks, and focus on promoting community connection, happiness, wellbeing and quality of life.
  • Event delivery including set up, monitoring, logistics, registration and pack down.
  • Preparation of communications and collateral with information for the community and stakeholders.
  • Network and partner with community members, groups and organisations to leverage off existing partnerships and capacity build to improve outcomes and reach more people.
  • Engage positively and constructively with community members.
  • Administration tasks including bookings, registrations and data entry, preparation of HSE documentation and event summary reports relevant events.
  • Stock and inventory management for community space.
  • Manage bookings of Smiths Lane’s community space including taking enquiries, opening and closing space (predominantly on weekends).

Your point of difference

You will have proven experience in working at events and in a community-facing role, coupled with strong administrative experience, preferably gained in a community programming or events environment.

You will have outstanding communication skills and ability to communicate with a wide range of people and the ability to work collaboratively with others.

It is essential you have a proven understanding of safe work practices in relation to working at events for identifying and reporting workplace hazards.

A Current Drivers Licence and access to a personal vehicle is required (appropriate compensation for work use will be forthcoming). A Police background check, Working with Children’s certificate and First Aid certificate will all be required.
