Our Prep Cooks have an eagerness to learn and collaborate in the production of all of our food at Zinc. They must work well within a team, thrive in a busy environment, while constantly striving to make every guest feel at home.
Responsibilities:
- Team Member responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Display working knowledge of basic food preparation and kitchen equipment use
- Follow company recipes, portion controls, presentation specifications and prep lists
- Consistently ensure the prep station remains clean and organized
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and embody an environment of teamwork
- Demonstrate an eagerness to refine skills and desire to learn and grow
- Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines
- Handle varying levels of business volume with composure & a positive attitude
- Perform all opening and closing duties assigned by managers
- Follow all safety and state guidelines for preventing transmission of Covid-19 and other illnesses

Job Qualifications:
- A team player with a positive attitude
- Quick and flexible learner
- Communication and collaboration skills
- Attention to detail
- Experience in a prep position is a plus, but not required
- Basic food, kitchen equipment and prepping knowledge
- English proficiency is preferred, but not required
- Food handlers certification
Work Context:
- Working with hot foods and beverages
- Walking and standing for long periods of time
- Tasks will be performed using and in the proximity of coolers, stoves, and other hot equipment
- The employee may frequently be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch for duration of shift (eight hours or longer)
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move and/or push up to 50 pounds without assistance
- The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in a typical office and restaurant environment
