Role Description

Your Role: 

The Associate Director, Regional Sales is responsible for the management of his/her assigned field sales representatives. The incumbent will develop a regional level Dermatology business plan and direct Dermatology account managers in the implementation of the LEO Pharma sales/marketing plan to assure maximum distribution and market penetration of LEO Pharma and co-promoted products within LEO Pharma guidelines, policies and directives.  

The Associate Director, Regional Sales, ensures equal and consistent application of established policies and procedures in the management of employees to meet or exceed sales goals.  The Associate Director of Regional Sales has an in-depth working knowledge of markets across the region, commercial key accounts, public and private payers and national account influences.  

 

 

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Develops, enhances, and increases LEO Pharma dermatology region sales performance to meet or exceed annual Company sales and market share objectives. Exercises fiscal control on allocated operating budgets. 

  • Recruits and selects applicants from a pool of qualified candidates to ensure all allocated positions are filled. Effectively administers salary and reward programs. Utilizes appropriate data sources to develop region tactical plans and to manage region at a high level of productivity. 

  • Actively monitors progress of work, cross-functional activities and accountability within the region, including both virtual and live settings. Plan and execute region meetings that effectively implement objectives and strategies as determined by the Company. Cultivates teamwork by facilitating cross-region communications and projects. Understands and directs appropriate activities in assigned Dermatology accounts, including Centers of Excellence, Hospital Systems, Infusion Centers, Specialty Pharmacies, etc. 

  • Spends appropriate amount of time developing customers, networks and their relationships to foster Company business. 

  • Analyzes the complex relationships between regional customers and stakeholders; prioritize accounts and develop and implement regional plans. 

  • Communicates candidly with supervisor and direct reports. Ensures an open communication environment for direct reports. Completes Field contact Reports as directed by management. Applies appropriate coaching styles to each direct report to develop skills and ensure accountability. Supports the LEO Pharma Diversity Initiative. Completes all administrative responsibilities as directed by management. 

  • Performs all Company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g., EEO, FDA, DEA, OSHA, PO , EPA, PhRMA, etc.) and Company policy and procedures. When violations are noted/observed they are to be immediately reported to management. Demonstrates high ethical and professional) standards with all business contacts in order to maintain LEO Pharma's excellent reputation within the medical and pharmaceutical community. 

 

 

Your Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.   

  • A minimum of 8 years pharmaceutical sales experience with a minimum of 3 years in Rare Disease including account management experience calling on C and D suite customers across complex integrated delivery networks; or 8 years of pharmaceutical sales management experience. 

  • A minimum of 7 years successful pharmaceutical industry experience including 2-5 years leading a sales team or rare disease launch leadership experience and previous experience in specialty sales. 

  • Launch experience within the past 10 years required. 

  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation 

  • In-depth understanding of the economics/business of Dermatology across all settings, the evolving reimbursement environment and evolution of specialty distribution and patient support services. Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop diverse teams from outside and within LEO to maintain a deep talent pool for organizational succession planning and talent management. 

  • Working knowledge of the PhRMA guidelines and other regulatory statutes (e.g. POMA, Sunshine Act) that affect pharmaceutical promotion and ensure compliance with all LEO policies and procedures 

  • Knowledge of and experience with complex Dermatology market, products, HUB services, buy and bill, infusion therapy strongly preferred. 

  • Track record of success, contributing to and/or building high performing teams and working in a cross functional matrix environment 

  • Excellent communications, objective setting, and influencing skills Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and database applications. 

  • Ability to travel, including significant overnight travel. Reside in territory geography or willing to relocate. 

  • Valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record. Authorization and ability to drive a Company leased vehicle or authorized rental vehicle. 

 

The base salary range for this position is $185,000- $245,000 per year. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the LEO Pharma range for this position. Salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
