KP is looking for a Network Engineer to secure, configure and maintain network systems (data, voice, video and wireless) across the organization.  This position is in West Sacramento, California. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage new and existing equipment, as well as network hardware and software upgrades.
  • Install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot enterprise-class network equipment, LANs, WANs, VLANs, and wireless networks
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, circuits, etc.
  • Assess existing network infrastructure and recommend improvements to enhance performance and security.
  • Assist in developing and implementing enterprise-wide network standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Address technical debt to ensure robustness and efficiency.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned. 

Requirements

This position is hybrid/remote. The successful candidate must be able to commute to our facility in West Sacramento on a regular basis.

Education, Experience, and Training (Knowledge):

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Bachelor’s Seeking with Technical Competencies and 3 years of industry experience OR 9 years of industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree

Skills and abilities:

  • Strong technical skills and understanding of routing and switching design principles, including best practices, and related technologies, including routers, switches, remote access, DNS, VLAN, QoS, SIP, MPLS, SD-WAN, and log management.
  • Experience managing medium to large-scale enterprise networks, including DMZ design, network security/authentication, and diagnostics, for both on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Experience managing Juniper switching and wireless.
  • Proficiency in Azure networking services and architecture design
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a consultative manner with others, i.e., establish rapport, interview/fact-find, define requirements, present options/recommend solutions, follow-up, and positive customer-focused behavior.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Experience creating and following change control processes; familiarity with ITIL.
  • Experience in supporting infrastructure in regulated environments.

Certificates and Licenses: CCNP, JNCIP or similar
