About the Department
The Combination Inspector I conducts on-site field inspections of buildings and properties in the City to determine code compliance.
Will hire an Inspector II or III depending on qualifications.Position Duties

Minimum Qualifications
Ability to drive a vehicle to and from various work sites. Ability to walk for extended periods of time while performing inspection duties. Employees must frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees may have to push and/or pull a maximum force of 100 pounds. Employees will communicate verbally, hear explanations, and visually inspect plans and work. Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding or get on roofs for building and trench inspections. Must be able to walk on slippery, loose, uneven, and sloped ground. Employees will be exposed to traffic hazards and dangerous constructions situations. Includes indoor and outdoor work in seasonal temperatures as well as in adverse conditions such as extreme cold, heat, heights, and noise. Employees will work in and near trenches and be exposed to mechanical, fire, chemical, electrical, radiation, laser, insect, and/or animal hazards; and fumes, odors, water, muds, and dust. |
