JOB HIGHLIGHTS

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for content development, research, and team coordination across a growing Marketing and Communications Team.  The Coordinator will draft talking points, journalist briefs, fact sheets, one pagers and other content.  They will also conduct research to support outreach and communication strategies including media audits, social listening, press list development, and landscape assessments. The Coordinator will also provide administrative support to the Marketing and Communication team.  

The ideal candidate will be a communications professional who has excellent written communications skills and is exceptionally organized, a self-starter, a meticulous researcher, and passionate about conservation and communications.

  • Develop content for the Marketing and Communications Team as directed, including drafting materials such as talking points, briefs, one pagers, press releases, and social content.  
  • Conduct research as directed to advance strategic communication priorities for TCF including media audits, journalist research, press list development, social media audits, vendor research, and other projects as directed by members of the Marketing and Communications  
  • Support the implementation of marketing and communication strategies through event support, securing photographers and videographers, vendor logistics, post-event follow up, and other activities as directed.  
  • Provide operations and administrative support for the effective running of the Marketing and Communications Team, including liaising with vendors, partners, consultants, and other departments across The Conservation Fund.  
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

 

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO HAVE

  • One to three years’ experience in communications or related field.  
  • Exceptional attention to detail in oral and written communications, strong writer, proofreader. 
  • Creative, organized, strategic, highly motivated.  
  • Experience juggling multiple projects, working across departments, managing up, and balancing shifting priorities.  
  • Experience and comfort working independently and as part of a team, showing flexibility and eagerness; ability to collaborate and execute individually
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Office 365).
  • A commitment to conservation and the goals of The Conservation Fund

 

WHAT WE’D LIKE YOU TO HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree with major coursework in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications, or related field. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Work is performed primarily in an office setting. 
  • Work is sometimes performed under deadlines and quick turnarounds.  

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000, and the position is eligible for opportunities to earn performance-based bonus compensation. Please note: Salary range provided is an estimate and will be evaluated on an individual basis, taking into consideration the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and education. The final salary offer will be determined accordingly.
