As an Entry Support Mechanic, you will play a vital role in keeping the airport's baggage handling system running smoothly. Working under the supervision of experienced technicians, you will assist in the maintenance, repair, and monitoring of conveyor systems and related mechanical equipment. This hands-on position is ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and looking to start a career in industrial maintenance within a fast-paced airport environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled & unscheduled maintenance including dismantling, repair and rebuilding of equipment
• Responsible for maintaining all mechanical components within the system
• Installation inspection, assessment, maintenance, repair, and/or refurbish all mechanical parts, components and/or assemblies within the system
• Ensure baggage is moving optimally along the system, clear and monitor potential jams.
• Cleaning of the system and surrounding areas
• Diagnosing, adjusting and/or resetting improper functions
• Maintain and operate the ICS according to the OEM manuals
• Other duties as required

Pay rate: $26.52 per hour, Fringe rate: $7.86 per hour

Work schedule: Wednesday: 10:00am - 4:00pm and Thursday - Saturday 4:00am - 4:00pm

Skills/Experience/Authorizations Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 0-2 years of experience for entry level support mechanic in baggage handling systems and/or automated systems in material handling industries operations and maintenance.
• Ability to clear, reset, and address any operational issues (jam, etc.)
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical related issues
• Must be able to obtain and maintain airport security clearance
• Positive, professional attitude and demeanor
• Solutions focused while maintaining the highest level of customer service

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced airport environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and variable temperatures.
• Shifts include working nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Frequent walking and standing throughout large airport facilities
