Saint Joseph’s Center, dedicated to serving individuals with intellectual disabilities through compassionate care and support, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to guide the organization’s fiscal strategy and stewardship across all related entities.
The role of CFO will direct the overall financial operations of the organization, and also provide leadership and supervisory oversight for our maintenance, housekeeping, support services and information technology departments. Also, this position will interact with all departments at Saint Joseph's Center, including our outside entities: Saint Joseph's Center Foundation and Saint Joseph's Center Auxiliary.
The CFO position is a full time, senior level administrator position based at Saint Joseph's Center's headquarters in Scranton, PA. This is a salaried position with healthcare benefits, paid time off, retirement plan and other additional benefits.

What You'll Do:
- Assume the authority, responsibility and accountability of the Finance Department, including payroll and additional entities such as Saint Joseph's Center Foundation and Saint Joseph's Center Auxiliary.
- Manage personnel related functions, including supervision, training, evaluations and scheduling for the following departments: Finance/Payroll, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Support Services including Laundry and Central Supply and Information Technology.
- Prepare for, coordinates and oversees audits for Saint Joseph's Center, Saint Joseph's Center Foundation and Saint Joseph's Center Auxiliary.
- Review fiscal management policies and procedures and make changes as necessary to assure compliance is being continually maintained.
- Oversee the preparation of annual operating budgets and monthly financial statements for the Center, Auxiliary and Foundation.
- Serve on numerous committees and is the staff resource person for select Board Committees, including Human Resources, Financial, Physical Plant, Audit, Foundation Investment, 401K and others as requested.
- Assure the accurate and timely completion of the IRS Form 990 for each entity. Files the Bureau of Charitable Organizations registration statements annually.
- Work with outside consultants and the Vice President of Administration to determine the proper cost of health insurance plans and fringe benefits for employees.
- Evaluate and advise on the financial impact of long-range planning, introduction of new program/strategies and regulatory action/changes.
- Attends and participate in workshops, seminars, etc. to keep abreast of changes in the healthcare and/or financial management field.

What's Required of You:
- Certified Public Accountant and/or Masters in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in a financial management capacity with similar level responsibility
- Knowledge of social services and/or nonprofit management
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to make independent decisions
- Knowledge of business transactions and accounting principles
- Familiarity with various accounting systems, including time and attendance programs
