- Must hold a valid AWS “CWI” Certified Welding Inspector License
- On-site inspection of structural and mechanical welding practices
- Maintaining detailed inspection reports, recording data, and documenting any non-conformances found during inspection.
- Investigate and address non-conformities, discrepancies, or deficiencies promptly.
- Identifying and reporting defects or deviations from specifications, initiating corrective actions, and following up to ensure issues are being resolved.
- Inspect the production quality to establish requirements are being met.
- Verify work is in place according to drawing and specifications.
- Record and document all deviations from original scope.
- Notify management of all discrepancies found.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma, or Equivalent
- Two (2) years’ heavy mechanical industrial experience required.
- Current and valid driver’s license, with clean driving record
- Proven fluency with computers, including ability to learn new software.
- Take and pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, welding procedures, and engineering practices
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Expertise in using various measuring tools and testing equipment.
- Knowledge of quality control methodologies and documentation practices
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects.
- Effective communication skills to effectively report quality issues.
- Ability to set and balance priorities to complete projects on time.
- Ability to make decisions and recommend appropriate course of action in demanding situations.
- While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is required to talk, hear, and see.
- The incumbent frequently is required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, walk, and sit.
- The incumbent must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds.
- Visual acuity must be adequate to perform all required Job Description tasks in a safe manner.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and may require use of ear plugs on occasion.
- Work is conducted outside at a job site/field site that may have inclement weather conditions.
- The incumbent is exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, and equipment.
- The employee is required to work and stay on site during the work rotation and must comply with all Company and Client policies.
