At Arable, our mission is to connect all the world’s farms and provide the highest-quality data to
power predictive analytics, optimizing the global food system. The need to rethink how we feed an
ever-growing population and manage our natural resources has never been greater. We believe the
heart of the solution lies in digitizing the analog world with high-fidelity data to help food producers
optimize their operations. If successful, our work will enhance the lives of farmers, mitigate
greenhouse gas emissions, and make a significant contribution to securing the global food supply for
decades to come.
Examples of our work:
- Helping farmers in Nebraska manage water more efficiently and sustainably
- Building agricultural climate data networks in Africa to help farmers adapt to climate
change.
- Providing California farmers with tools to save water, reduce risk, and minimize waste
The Role
Seeking a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team, focusing on agricultural technology challenges. This role involves architecting, implementing, and managing AWS cloud infrastructure,
You'll drive our Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategy with Terraform and optimize application
deployment using Helm, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance system scalability,
reliability, and security.

This role involves architecting, implementing, and managing AWS cloud infrastructure, specifically our AWS & Kubernetes (EKS) ecosystem. You'll drive our Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategy with Terraform and optimize applicationdeployment using Helm, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance system scalability, reliability, and security.
What You Will Do:
Develop and Build
Design, build, and maintain scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure on AWS, with a primary focus on Amazon EKS and its surrounding ecosystem.
Author, manage, and evolve our Terraform modules to automate the provisioning and lifecycle management of all cloud resources.
Develop, manage, and standardize Helm charts for consistent and reliable application deployments across all Kubernetes environments.
Manage and Deploy
Engineer and enhance our CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, ArgoCD) to accelerate development velocity and improve deployment quality.
Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana,
OpenTelemetry based platforms) to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and ensure high availability.
Innovate and Uphold Quality
Champion software development best practices, including robust version control with Git, integrate security best practices (DevSecOps) throughout the infrastructure lifecycle, from code to cloud, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Explore and integrate AI/ML tools to innovate and automate development, testing, and operational tasks, boosting efficiency and accuracy.
Documentation and Compliance
Create comprehensive documentation for the software architecture and design.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices, including security and data protection.
What You Bring:
5+ years of professional experience in a DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or SRE role.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS and its core services (EC2, EKS, S3, RDS etc.,), networking (VPC) and security (IAM).
Proficient in writing production-grade Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.
Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture and hands-on experience managing clusters, preferably with AWS EKS. Expertise in creating and managing Helm charts for application deployment.
Demonstrable experience in building and managing complex CI/CD pipelines using ArgoCD, GitHub Actions etc.,
Proficiency in scripting with Python, Groovy or Unix shell scripts.
Solid understanding of Git and collaborative development workflows.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent field.
Experience with advanced Kubernetes concepts (e.g., custom resource definitions (CRDs), operators, service mesh like Istio).
Knowledge of cost optimization strategies in AWS.
Experience with GitOps principles and tools like Argo CD or Flux.
Master's degree in computer science or equivalent field.
Qualities for Success:
A Lifelong Learner: You are genuinely enthusiastic about exploring and mastering new cloud technologies and data engineering tools.
