Your New Role
In this newly created role, you’ll confidently execute equity and derivative trades across domestic and international markets, delivering best practice execution while ensuring alignment with investment strategies as part of the broader strategic objectives of Australian Ethical to achieve growth in funds under management.
Key Responsibilities Include:
·Equity Trade Execution: Execute equity trades across global markets, co-ordinate capital raising and IPO participation, manage basket trades, seek appropriate liquidity as instructed, implement and manage direct market access, implement trade allocation policies and ensure alignment with portfolio objectives
·Market Intelligence: Monitor equity markets, stock flows and insights, company news flow, macroeconomic developments, and sector trends to provide actionable insights to investment teams
·Broker and Counterparty Management: Maintain and enhance relationships with brokers and trading platforms to optimise execution quality, access differentiated market flow and negotiate appropriate commission rates.
·Compliance and Governance: Ensure all trading activities adhere to internal policies, regulatory standards, and risk controls, with a strong focus on transparency and auditability
·Technology and Systems: Leverage trading systems and data analytics tools to support efficient execution and post-trade analysis
·Oversee and co-ordinate payment of research tags and CSA arrangements
What we’re looking for
You’re an established, adept equities dealer, with a demonstrated track record of delivering accurate, high-quality trade execution to deliver optimal outcomes supporting portfolio performance. With deep market expertise, strong existing broker relationships, excellent communication and collaboration skills you’re highly capable of contributing to strategic trading decisions.
If you have the following, we’d love to hear from you:
·5+ years’ experience in equities trading or dealing within an investment management business
·Strong existing relationships across a wide range of market participants
·Excellent understanding of equity markets, trading strategies, and market microstructure
·Proven experience with trading platforms and order management systems
·Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high pressure environment with sound judgement and integrity
·Relevant qualifications
