American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO) is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to lead our Quality Control Department and ensure strict compliance with NQA-1, ASME, AWS, and other applicable codes and regulations.

 

The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee Weld Inspectors, NDE Inspectors, and related quality staff while managing critical quality programs – including calibration, material testing, and inspector qualification. You’ll serve as a leader, project manager, and technical expert driving continuous improvement across the organization.

Schedule: Full-time hours | Monday – Friday 8:00am-4:30pm | Overtime as needed

What You’ll Do


  • Lead, mentor, and manage Weld Inspectors, NDE Inspectors, and quality staff.
  • Oversee programs including calibration, material testing, inspector qualification, and continuity.
  • Lead Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) activities for safety-related applications.
  • Provide technical expertise on welding and NDE, aligning with AWS D1.1, D1.6, D14.1 standards.
  • Support and conduct internal/external audits, surveillances, and inspections.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams to integrate quality into design, procurement, and production.
  • Analyze trends, lead CAPA initiatives, and promote continuous improvement across departments.

 

What We’re Looking For


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or related technical field (preferred).
  • 10+ years of quality experience in custom manufacturing or project-based industries.
  • Leadership experience managing quality teams in regulated environments.
  • Hands-on welding and weld inspection background in industrial manufacturing.
  • Nuclear industry experience with NQA-1 programs (required).
  • Strong NDE background; Level II+ certification in UT, RT, MT, or PT (preferred).
  • Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) experience strongly preferred.

Work Environment

 

This role involves both office and manufacturing environments, with regular exposure to fabrication and inspection areas. Occasional travel to supplier or customer sites may be required. Safety protocols and PPE provided.
