OVERVIEW

The Production Director is responsible for the proper execution of Sunday services. The Production Director will bring an intentional, comprehensive, and professional level of technical production for weekend services, online streaming, and large events. This leader will be responsible for all technical and production systems and will closely partner with the Creative Arts Pastor, CFO, and the Modern and Traditional Worship Pastors to create high-quality, consistent, and worshipful services. This role oversees the equipment, process, budget, and people (staff, contract, volunteer) involved in production. The Production Director will have a shepherd’s heart, the skill and knowledge of an expert, a commitment to learn while seeking to improve, and a calling to lead their team to do the same. This role requires experience and appreciation for traditional and modern worship styles.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadership 
    1. Set an example of living a personal life of worship and prayer and being sensitive to the Spirit’s leading for production while staying rooted in the Word
    2. This is a high-responsibility, high-impact role. As a leader, it is essential to proactively invest in continual personal growth, self-awareness, self-care, integrity and guard against personal vulnerabilities
    3. Provide vision, leadership, and management to the Technical & Production teams, including hiring, goal setting, project management, budget setting and management, and infrastructure development
  • Volunteer & Staff Management & Development 
    1. Oversee production teams at the Eden Prairie (broadcast) campus, including broadcasting, lighting, audio, and stage manager teams
    2. Provide direction, training, and support for tech/production positions at the Edina campus and The Avenue campus 
    3. Develop and maintain a healthy, positive, proactive mentality among Technical and Production staff and volunteers, including developing and helping them to become disciples who make disciples
    4. Recruit, onboard, develop, and engage volunteer leaders and paid Production staff
  • Strategic Infrastructure Development 
    1. Decide and implement equipment standards and processes in partnership with the Creative Arts Pastor & CFO
    2. Maintain a high level of excellence in production across all campuses
    3. Oversees Technical Arts and Production budget, including a 5-year plan for infrastructure updates and enhancements in our spaces
    4. Provide project management for set design and construction if and when needed
    5. Continually develop and implement new production elements and technology
  • Excellent Execution 
    1. Ensure all Technical and Production teams perform at a standard of excellence in partnership with the Worship Pastors, Creative Arts Pastor, and Senior Pastor to execute the vision for each weekend service
    2. Create an intentional and missional environment for the Worship Center(s), online services, broadcasting, video, lighting, sound, and stage design

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Personal:
    1. Professing believer with evidence of a relationship with Christ
    2. Subscribe to and affirm the Statement of Faith and Covenant of Wooddale Church
    3. Be a regular participant in public worship at Wooddale Church
    4. Remain a member in good standing of Wooddale Church
  • Leadership:
    1. Gifted in organizational leadership and management of projects and teams
    2. Effective and direct communicator
    3. Flexible and adaptable, ability to troubleshoot and think out of the box
  • Technical:
    1. Bachelor’s degree or technical certification in relevant field
    2. 3-5 years of direct management experience preferred
    3. Professional level ability and knowledge of production equipment and operation for both modern and traditional styles of worshiping, including:
      • Digital audio consoles and IEM systems
      • LED lighting and usage, including theatrical and intelligent lighting for video and DMX programming
      • Experience and knowledge of multi-venue production, including video usage and production staff for multiple locations
      • Ability to work with and lead a team in providing technical support for a SATB choir of 130 singers, chamber choir of 24 auditioned singers, full orchestra and instrumental ensembles (strings and/or brass). 

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to Creative Arts Pastor 
  • Supervises all Technical and Production Staff
  • Relates to Campus Pastors and Worship Pastors
  • Coordinate with other members of the Wooddale Church staff

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

  • Wooddale Church offers a comprehensive benefits package for all 40+ hour full-time employees, which includes opportunities to elect Medical (30+ hour full-time), Dental, Life/AD&D, HSA, Flex, LTD, optional Vision, optional Life/AD&D, optional STD, a Health & Wellness Plan and a 403(b) retirement plan with company match and immediate vesting. Projected Annual Salary is $60,000 - $75,000 depending upon qualifications and experience. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This job operates in an office setting and will include using standard office equipment. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear and frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift 50 lbs as an essential function of this job. The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
