Job Overview
We are seeking skilled Mandarin In-Person Interpreters in the listed cities and surrounding areas. As an interpreter, you will provide on-site interpretation between English and Mandarin in professional settings such as hospitals, courts, schools, community agencies, and business meetings. Assignments will be offered on an as-needed basis, depending on client demand in your location.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, impartial, and confidential in-person interpretation between English and Mandarin.
- Facilitate communication in medical, legal, educational, community, and business environments.
- Prepare for assignments when applicable, ensuring familiarity with terminology.
- Maintain professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and neutrality.
- Adhere to Day Interpreting’s code of ethics and confidentiality standards.
Requirements
- Fluency in Mandarin and English (native or near-native proficiency in both).
- Proven experience as an interpreter (medical, legal, community, or educational settings preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Reliable transportation to attend assignments on-site.
- Professional certification (e.g., court or medical interpreting) is a plus but not required.
