Business Manager

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and manage the district’s annual budget in alignment with strategic goals and state requirements.
• Oversee financial planning and forecasting to support long-term sustainability.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including UFARS, GAAP, and GASB standards.
• Manage payroll operations to ensure accurate and timely processing for all staff.
• Prepare and present regular financial reports to the Superintendent and School Board.
• Provide financial oversight and support to all district departments to ensure effective use of resources.
• Serve as the district’s primary liaison with auditors and external financial entities.
• Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost-saving measures across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
• Previous experience in school district finance or public sector financial management is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge and experience with UFARS, GAAP, GASB, and Minnesota school finance regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
