Lamar's Corporate office is now hiring a Systems Developer I to provide general programming services and support to new and existing software systems developed by Lamar.

What we are looking for in you:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with MS Windows Server
  • Strong skills in C# .net, VB .net, and VB script
  • Ability to troubleshoot and performance tune slow running queries

Education and experience:

  • High School Education or Equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience required

A day in the life:

  • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency of business processes in the areas designated by management
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and identify modifications needed in existing applications and procedures to meet changing user requirements
  • Write technical procedures and documentation for the applications including Operations, user guide, etc.
  • Provide support for third party software solutions ensuring that the Development and Operations staff is following the proper guidelines and rules for these systems for the following applications, but not limited to:
    • Active Batch Job Scheduler, Application Extender Content Management, and Kofax Image Capture
    • Support will require tasks to be performed after hours from time to time
  • Assist in evaluating and recommending additional third party solutions that will bring value to Lamar
  • Provide assistance and offer advice to business users in the effective use of applications and Information Technology
  • Coordinate with the Operations staff to ensure that all processes are documented
  • Assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource
  • Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored, or accessed by the network

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • The primary work environment is an office.
  • The physical demands for this position include light lifting, seeing (with a focus on reading), sitting more than 50% of the time, talking, and walking.
  • Nights spent traveling, away from home, are less than 10%.
