A day in the life...

We are seeking a charismatic and polished Innkeeper to serve as the face and operational heartbeat of Chatham Inn. This leader will be responsible for the holistic guest journey—from pre-arrival anticipation through personalized departure. The Innkeeper ensures the execution of elevated luxury service, strategic operations, and alignment with Noble House, Relais & Châteaux, and Forbes Five-Star standards.This is more than a general manager role—it’s a host, curator, ambassador, and cultural steward who brings warmth, precision, and presence to every aspect of the guest experience.


Key Responsibilities


Guest Experience Leadership

  • Serve as the primary point of contact and visible leader for guests throughout their stay.
  • Oversee the execution of Forbes Five-Star service standards and Relais & Châteaux guest touchpoints, ensuring intuitive and personalized experiences.
  • Cultivate deep guest relationships and loyalty through a sense of welcome, refinement, and memory-making.

Operational Oversight

  • Lead daily operations across Rooms, Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B (Cuvée), and Maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Room Operations team to maintain SOPs aligned with Noble House best practices.
  • Use service platforms such as Alice, Revinate, and Hotel Effectiveness to drive efficiency and performance.

Team Culture & Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing, cross-functional team committed to excellence and accountability.
  • Foster a service-forward culture that is humble, gracious, and empowered.
  • Act as a steward of Noble House’s core values: Rooted in Family, Come As You Are, and Happy to Help.

Property Standards & Brand Alignment

  • Maintain Forbes, AAA, and Relais & Châteaux requirements including regular QA audits and internal walkthroughs.
  • Actively manage and elevate property presentation including scenting, music, lighting, and curated local elements.
  • Ensure Relais & Châteaux brand presence is reflected in collateral, amenities, and style of service.

Financial & Strategic Management

  • Monitor and manage property-level financials including labor, supplies, and operational expenses.
  • Execute a performance-based bonus plan at 20% of base salary tied to service, profitability, and brand standards.
  • Collaborate with Revenue and Marketing to optimize seasonal demand, packages, and local positioning.

Requirements

 You own this if you have…

  • 5+ years of senior leadership in luxury hospitality, ideally at a Forbes-rated or Relais & Châteaux property.
  • Deep understanding of boutique innkeeping, personalized service, and culinary integration.
  • Strong presence, warmth, and emotional intelligence—comfortable hosting high-touch clientele.
  • Experience living or working in a seasonal or destination market preferred.
  • Proficiency in Opera PMS, Alice, Revinate, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Base Salary: $95,000 – $115,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Performance Bonus: Up to 20% of base salary.
  • Onsite Housing Included: Private apartment (market value approx. $2,000/month)
    • Note: Secondary housing unit is suited for a single occupant (not a couple).
