POSITION TITLE: Home Care Aid Program Coordinator
PROGRAM: Family Empowerment 
REPORTS TO: Family Support Manager
STATUS: Nonexempt Regular, Full-Time (Up to 40 hours)

SUMMARY: 
Coordinate’s daily operations of the ReWA Home Care Career Advancement Programs. Plan and implement outreach strategy’s for recruiting Home Care Aid students and career advancement participants, compile and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports. Conduct orientations & CASAS Testing; coordinate the class components with HCA and Job Readiness instructors: schedule classes, assist with intake and enrollment, assist with training instructors and volunteers and provide guidance, assure student files are properly maintained. Assists in developing successful employment/internships involves partnership development with HCA provider agencies, long term care facilities, hospitals and other private medical facilities for student internships and employment.  In tangent with HCA and Job Readiness instructors and case managers drives training initiatives identifying professional development opportunities for participants in the health care field increasing knowledge and skills that will lead to increased integration and self-sufficiency. Assists instructors with curriculum development.  Substitute instructor / case manager when needed. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible to work closely with the Program Manager, Senior Director and team to ensure that curriculum, teachers’ logs, student attendance reports, and progress reports for all contractor’s and funders meet contractual requirements and are submitted in a timely manner.
  • Provides overall coordination for all program components.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the HCA Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assists with meeting outreach goals to fill HCA classes with 15-20 students per session who are ORIA eligible
  • In tangent with instructors and case managers develop and implement strategies to remove barriers to participants attending classes 
  • Coordinate with ESL Coordinator and assist with providing CASAS testing and ensure the students are at least ESL level 3 and able to participate, successfully, in ReWA HCA classes.
  • Conducts orientation sessions for prospective clients HCA Programs.
  • Provide career coaching for participants who are seeking career pathways to increase their education and job promotions in the health care industry; to include career exploration, applying at education institutions, assistance in finding funding for students education.
  • Supports instructors in becoming certified with the State as a ReWA certified HCA instructor.  
  • Responsible, as needed, with providing HCA and Job Readiness instructions when needed for the classes to ensure seamless delivery of both class components, due to illness, vacation or temporary vacancy in position.
  • In partnership with case managers and instructors develop and implement an outreach strategy for the HCA programs, with a focus on recruiting students committed to advancing their career pathway obtainment.
  • Develops and maintains partnerships with colleges and Home Care Aide agencies, facilities and to increase employment opportunities and attainment.
  • Assist instructor when needed in the  coordination of ordering and distribution of teaching supplies and testing materials.
  • Assist in enrolling students and ensuring all information is inputted into ORIA Salesforce.
  • Reports to Senior Director and funders wholistically on outputs and outcomes and meets required deadlines for ReWA and funders.
  • Work closely with the Senior Director and HCA staff to evaluate the program and identify areas of growth that are needed to foster professional growth for staff and participants.  
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA in education, social work, or related field.
  • Strong English proficiency, written and oral
  • Willingness to become certified in HCA Certification instruction within 6 months of hire.
  • At least one year of demonstrated experience in teaching adult English Language learners some combination of literacy and phonetics skills, and creating lesson plans
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Fundamental knowledge of and experience in curriculum development
  • Proactive decision making and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Effective prioritizing, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Experience working with immigrants and refugees; ability to establish effective working relationships with multi-cultural staff, clients, community representatives and the public
  • Highly positive with enthusiastic style; capable of motivating students 
  • Ability to work as an effective team member in a multicultural organization 
  • Must be self-starter and dependable with strong problem-solving skills and good judgment
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs; excel, word, power point, publisher, etc..
  • Must reliable transportation. 
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends, as needed.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bi-lingual preferred
  • At least two years of demonstrated experience in teaching adult English Language learners some combination of literacy and phonetics skills, and creating lesson plans
  • Experience and training in ESL assessment and competency testing.
  • State-Approved Home Care Aid Worker
