Team overview:
The Marketing and Investor Relations team consists of six people in the London and New York offices. The team manages and develops relationships with existing and prospective investors and follows the strategy closely in order to provide investors with detailed information on the Funds, strategies and market views. We host client and prospect meetings, operational due diligence meetings and have regular update calls with investors. We also produce internal and external reports including DDQs, RFPs, marketing presentations, risk reports, presentation updates and quarterly letters. Given the breadth of our investment universe and the speed of market developments, the team is required to keep abreast of this news flow, the output from the Firm’s robust research team and corresponding shifts in the portfolio.
Job description:
We are looking for a Portfolio Analyst to join the team in New York. The role will involve working closely with Pharo research, risk management and Portfolio Managers to process a large volume of market-related information produced internally by the investment team. This will include economic research and market commentary as well as portfolio performance drivers and position evolution. This information is required to be efficiently structured and synthesized to support the IR team with investor communications.
The candidate should become a knowledge centre, providing succinct written and verbal content for client-interactions (investor calls, meetings and webinars) and materials (letters, DDQs and presentations). With extensive portfolio knowledge and time to focus on the markets and internal research, the candidate will keep the team updated with both informal and formal communications.
Required qualities and skills:
We are looking for candidates with 1 to 3 years of experience in a role with relevant experience at a top investment bank, asset manager, investment consultant, alternatives investor/allocator, or consulting firm. A strong analytical and quantitative background with experience in financial markets is required. Other qualifications include:
- Background in research or operations
- Strong grasp of global macro themes and interest in emerging markets
- Technical understanding of the assets we trade
- Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn
- Ability to digest and synthesize highly complex concepts
- Highly collaborative; desire to support and educate others
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Robust technical and analytical skills (including fluency in Excel, PowerPoint and Bloomberg)
- Highly organized, impeccable attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong academic background from a top university
- Strong work ethic
- Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Finance or Economics
