Building Clerk, Trimmer Elementary en West York Area School District

The West York Area School District is currently seeking a Building Clerk for Trimmer Elementary.  This is a full-time, school-year-only position. 

Requirements/Experience:

• High school diploma
• Experience in the secretarial field

Duties and Responsibilities (including but may not be limited to): 

• Receive incoming phone calls in a professional manner and route and/or handle as appropriate.
• Foster positive public relations by greeting and assisting visitors and community members to the school office.
• Process student entries and withdrawals, distribute applicable records, and inform appropriate personnel regarding the transactions.
• Contact parents/guardians regarding unreported absences according to school policy, as needed.
• Maintain cumulative student record files.
• Schedule substitute personnel according to district procedures and methods as needed.
• Requisition general supplies; assist with inventory cooperatively with the school principal; and provide miscellaneous information (transportation, census, cafeteria, fire drill, long distance calls, etc.)
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating special events within the schools, i.e., American Education Week, grandparent’s day, conferences, etc.
• Schedule and record student detention and in-school suspension, typing correspondence, and obtain homework assignments, as needed.
• Maintain the computer database for the building.
• Attend training as dictated by the supervisor.
• Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by the Principal or designee.

• Strong human relations skills.

• Computer skills, including utilizing databases and other district software and technology proficiently, as designated by the supervisor.

• Follow written and verbal directions, provide direction, and motivate peers.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• Full-time, school year only 
• 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (times may vary)

• This position is part of the Support Agreement.
• Wages will be based on experience, in accordance with the Support Agreement. Wages range from $14.84 - $20.00 per hour.
