Combining strategic insight with creative disruption, the Head of Brand Experience ensures every experience is creatively commercial, culturally relevant, and deeply integrated with MECCA’s marketing, commercial, and trading strategies.
The Role You Could Play
As a key member of the Marketing Extended Leadership Team (MLT), the Head of Brand Experience is responsible for shaping and delivering MECCA’s world-class events, activations, and brand experience strategy. Reporting to the CMO, this role drives experiential marketing that elevates brand awareness, deepens customer engagement, and fuels acquisition across MECCA and the 200+ global beauty brands we represent.
Leading a high-performing team, this role guides the design, planning, and execution of major campaigns, activations, consumer and industry events, and internal culture moments. You will define and deliver strategies that strengthen brand identity, amplify customer engagement, and create meaningful connections with the community – all while championing innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring consistency, quality, and impact across every experience.
With a relentless focus on creativity, community, and storytelling, the Head of Brand Experience plays a pivotal role in MECCA’s ambition to be the world’s most loved beauty destination, delivering global best-in-class experiences that drive brand affinity, commercial outcomes, and emotional connection with customers.
In this role, you will:
- Define and deliver MECCA’s brand experience strategy, aligned to our commercial, marketing, and customer goals
- Lead the design and execution of large-scale consumer, corporate, and cultural events - from festivals and retail openings to industry and internal culture moments
- Create best-in-class experiences that integrate seamlessly across physical, digital, and social platforms, including influencer, CRM, and media activations
- Champion creativity, storytelling, and cultural relevance, leveraging global trends, customer insights, and emerging technologies to keep MECCA at the forefront
- Build, coach, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence across every project
- Partner closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams - from Creative and PR to Retail, Brands & Buying, and Education - to bring bold, ownable ideas to life
- Manage budgets and resources with commercial discipline, ensuring every event delivers measurable business impact, brand love, and ROI
- Represent MECCA internally and externally with confidence, passion, and vision, shaping our reputation as a cultural and experiential leader
- Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment - staying resilient, adaptable, and relentlessly focused on delivering meaningful impact for our customers and community.
What You Will Bring
The successful candidate will bring proven commercial acumen and extensive experience delivering large-scale, multi-channel brand experiences. You will balance insights, trends, and customer behaviour with strategic foresight to ensure MECCA continues to deliver a differentiated and highly competitive brand experience, while identifying future market opportunities and driving innovation.
You will be able to demonstrate:
- 7 - 10+ years’ proven experience in events or brand experience roles, ideally within multi-brand, retail, or lifestyle sectors
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing large-scale consumer, corporate, and experiential campaigns that deliver measurable commercial and brand impact
- Strong experience leading cross-functional teams and managing external agencies, with the ability to collaborate effectively across complex stakeholder groups
- Skilled in integrating digital, social, and physical experiences, including influencer, CRM, and media activations, to maximise reach and engagement
- Proven ability to work closely with senior leadership and C-suite stakeholders, providing strategic recommendations and confidently representing the business externally
- Deep knowledge of industry trends, competitor activity, and global experiential best practices, with a track record of driving innovation and market differentiation
- Exceptional strategic thinking and creativity, underpinned by a strong understanding of consumer behaviour, brand positioning, and cultural trends
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences
- Commercially astute and data-driven, with strong experience in strategy development, budget ownership, and performance optimisation
- Creative, innovative mindset with a passion for customer experience, brand storytelling, and shaping culture through experiences
