About the Internship Program
Our interns are embedded directly into Democracy Docket’s teams, where they gain hands-on, professional experience and contribute to meaningful projects. Interns also receive mentorship, regular feedback, and professional development opportunities to support their career growth.
Social Media & Digital Content – Help create and curate engaging social media content across multiple platforms. Assist with writing posts, drafting graphics/video concepts, and analyzing performance metrics.
Qualifications
We’re looking for students who are:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program (all majors welcome)
 - Passionate about democracy, civic engagement, media, or public policy
 - Strong communicators (written and verbal)
 - Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
 - Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
 
Program Benefits
- $20/hour compensation
 - Flexible work schedule (15–20 hours/week)
 - Located in or able to commute to Washington, D.C.
 - Direct mentorship and regular 1:1 check-ins with a staff host
 - Access to Democracy Docket programming, staff events, and professional development opportunities
 - Hands-on experience contributing to a national media platform
