*This position is located onsite in Austin*
*This position utilizes a hybrid (remote and in-office work) schedule and will require overtime as needed. This position participates in a rotating on-call schedule as needed. *
Position Purpose:
Provides troubleshooting and technical assistance for both local and remote computer systems and users. Provides assistance or training related to computer hardware and software use; including printing, installation, word-processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Answers user inquiries via phone or remote session regarding computer software and hardware operation to resolve problems; provides technical support using interpersonal communication techniques.
- Uses software tools for remote management, troubleshooting, asset management, patch management and anti-virus.
- Participates in dispatch rotation for helpdesk tickets.
- Installs and performs various repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
- Records daily data communication transactions, problems, remedial action taken, and installation activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
- One (1) year desktop support
- College education in or technical training in computer related areas may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. (Experience requirements may be satisfied by full-time education or the prorated part-time equivalent.)
