The main office is located in Hayward, CA, the company’s products enable the identification of thousands of species of bacteria, yeast, and fungi as well as characterization of human cells and mitochondria. Our second office is located in Delaware; MIDI Labs, an innovator in microbial identification, currently offers contract laboratory services for microbial identification and enumeration to deliver critical, time-sensitive ID for pharmaceutical, probiotic, food and beverage, and personal care manufacturing operations using sequencing and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. We recently created a third office location, also in California, in Morgan Hill. Biolog products are available worldwide, either directly from the company or through its extensive network of international distributors.
Position Summary:
The Quality Control Associate at Biolog, Inc. is responsible for supporting the company’s
Quality System activities by performing microbiological testing, cell culture, microbial
identification, and maintaining quality control and other documentation. The role ensures
compliance with regulatory and quality standards while contributing to the accuracy and
integrity of laboratory data.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform microbial work using micro-plates, including setup, monitoring, and analysis.
- Conduct cell culturing and maintain aseptic techniques to ensure sample integrity.
- Execute microbial identification analysis using approved methodologies and instruments.
- Maintain accurate and detailed quality control records and documentation in accordance
with company and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in routine audits, quality checks, and investigations to ensure adherence to SOPs
and standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and various Quality-related projects as
assigned.
- Perform basic Quality Management activities, as needed, such as document control,
equipment and product validation execution, etc.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and
accurate results.
- Follow safety and quality guidelines to maintain a compliant laboratory environment.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, or related field required.
- 1–2 years of experience in a laboratory or quality assurance role preferred; entry-level
candidates with relevant education will be considered.
- Familiarity with microbial techniques, microplate work, and cell culture methods.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

- Knowledge of quality systems (cGMP, ISO), regulatory compliance, and laboratory safety
practices.
- Proficiency in standard computer applications (MS Office, data entry systems).
