Job Description:

Health Information Specialist is primarily responsible for the maintenance, auditing, disclosure, and release of the medical record in both paper and electronic format, including but not limited to: scanning, capturing, and uploading documents; analyzing the chart for accuracy and completeness; and reconciling and destruction of paper charts and records.

Qualifications:

What is required...

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Healthcare-related field; OR Additional training/education in a healthcare discipline; OR Prior experience in a health information management department with an electronic health record
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems and programs, including all Microsoft Office programs

What is preferred...

  • At least two years of customer service experience
  • Successful completion of a medical terminology course
  • Fluent in two or more languages
Additional Information:

Wage:  Wage range currently starts at $18.91/hour and goes up to $28.67/hour. Actual wage will be based on years' of applicable experience.  

FTE:  1.0 = 40 hours/week

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
