The EHS team supports Terumo EMEA in preventing accidents, reducing EHS risks, complying to EHS regulations and reducing our environmental impact.
Job Summary

We’re looking for a certified EHS Coordinator (Sicherheitsfachkraft) to join our team and lead our efforts in workplace safety and compliance. You’ll play a key role in implementing preventive strategies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring alignment with DGUV Regulation 2 and ASiG standards.
As a EHS Coordinator you will support the employer, management, and employees in planning, developing, and implementing the EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) policy and carry out legally required EHS tasks in accordance with national regulations and company standards.
Job Responsibilities
Legal & Regulatory Compliance
- Fulfill legal duties as EHS responsible in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Act as safety specialist in line with AsiG requirements.
- Monitor permit requirements and ensure legal obligations are met.
- Support client EHS audits and follow up on corrective and preventive action plans.
Risk Management & Analysis
- Conduct risk analyses for work activities, installations, and machinery.
- Perform safety-related machine and plant assessments (process and plant safety).
- Analyze health-related data (chemical exposure, noise, ergonomics).
- Identify and reduce potential EHS risks to operations.
- Study workplace accidents and health risks.
EHS System & Standards
- Manage and optimize the EHS management system (ISO 45001 & ISO 14001).
- Develop EHS-related SOPs based on the company’s management system.
- Implement EHS procedures and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
- Facilitate internal and external audits and support certification processes.
- Stay current with evolving EHS requirements and update procedures accordingly.
Safety & Environmental Initiatives
- Lead safety and environmental projects in compliance with regulations.
- Implement EHS policies and procedures across the site.
- Supervise commissioning of new equipment for safety compliance.
- Oversee waste management and hazardous substances database.
Training & Awareness
- Promote safe behavior through training, onboarding, and site walkthroughs.
- Deliver health and safety training sessions.
- Actively participate in the Committee for Prevention and Protection at Work (CPBW).
Collaboration & Support
- Serve as contact person for occupational health and safety for employees, management, and authorities.
- Provide technical support for hazardous substance control measures.
- Ensure site security aligns with campus standards.
- Maintain strong collaboration and reporting with the TE EHS team.
Profile Description
- Completed training as a certified Safety Specialist (Sicherheitsfachkraft) or a degree in engineering with specialization in safety (e.g. mechanical, electrical, or safety engineering).
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in occupational safety or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of applicable safety regulations and standards (e.g. DGUV, ISO, STOP principle).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Fluent in [German/English] – both written and spoken.
- First Aid certification is a plus.
