Job Summary

Supports and implements manufacturing Weld quality systems for customers (OEM’s) suppliers, or product. 

Essential Functions:

• Sets and monitors SPC data to ensure delivery of consistent quality from suppliers or to customers.
• Review and approve weld, check audit inspection reports. Ensure reaction plan(s) implemented for each non compliance.
• Sets standards for determining non-conforming materials and scrap review.
• Follows-up and responds to customer concerns with regards to quality.
• Plans and coordinates PPAP documentation and submissions.
• Assists with PFMEAs and APQP activities.
• Prepares reports weld and sealer quality reports for customer (O.E.M’s.)
• Develops and implements weld quality check processes; sampling plans, standardized work instruction using lean tools.
• Assists in the implementation of ISO and TS initiatives.
• Weld quality problem solving, ensuring recurrence prevention counter measures are taken.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS: Engineering, Industrial Technology, or other technical discipline plus 2 years quality experience in a stamping/robotic assembly environment.

AS: Engineering Technology plus 4 years experience in a stamping/robotic assembly environment

-or-

7+ years experience and training in a similar role and environment.

• Strong knowledge of GD&T and SPC
• Knowledge of quality tools/techniques (APQP, PPAP, ISO/TS, Problem Solving)
• Ability to work in a team-based lean manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in programming scanmaster ultrasonic test parameters.
• Ability to pull data from catia into scanmaster ultrasonic test format(s).
• Proficient in spot weld ultrasonic testing (level 2 certification), weld destruct, mig weld etch and polish samples, and tensile pull test.
