GENERAL SUMMARY

Responsible for analyzing, planning, installing, configuring, maintaining, and providing technical software support and rapid issue resolution for all aspects of the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.  The Senior Applications Administrator is heavily focused on the software environment, including managing the hosted (Software as a Service) environments, creating and maintaining connections with other systems, managing user access and security, and working closely with the software vendors to complete updates and patches, manage open support cases, and coordinate end user training.  The Senior Applications Administrator is the primary contact for vendor relationships for the EAM and ERP systems.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

  1. Leads the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of enterprise applications.
  2. Coordinates the actions of hosted services vendors to maximize system availability while ensuring patches and updates are applied in a timely manner consistent with contractual Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
  3. Evaluates patches and updates prior to installation to identify potential system impact and to optimize performance.
  4. Leads the planning, design, and development of supporting infrastructure related to the hosted (Software as a Service) environments.
  5. Maintains the architecture necessary for enterprise application integration with other applications and systems.
  6. Liaises with organizational stakeholders, management, and vendors on enterprise applications and related activities.
  7. Leads the coordination and facilitation of user orientation/training.
  8. Acts as subject matter expert on projects to architect, implement, enhance, and test enterprise systems and applications to meet changing organizational needs.
  9. Performs complex configurations, change management, and testing activities to support a service-oriented architecture and integration between all associated applications.
  10. Troubleshoots and resolves complex technical problems; performs Tier 3 level support for enterprise applications.
  11. Manages the software support relationship with the application vendors and serves as primary point of contact for all vendor support cases.
  12. Designs, implements, and manages the system security, user access, and segregation of duties policies and procedures for the enterprise application systems.
  13. Implements and administers backup and recovery processes for enterprise applications.
  14. Creates, updates, and manages policies and procedures and creates technical standard operating procedures related to the use and support of the enterprise systems.
  15. Determines future growth requirements of enterprise applications in areas such as database size, number of end users, and application functionality; works with other IT team members and/or vendors to address system capacity needs.
  16. Ensures the performance and reliability of enterprise systems; monitoring the system for high availability, load balancing, and satisfactory response time.
  17. Other duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work requires providing guidance and the potential to oversee another employee.  This position may oversee work quality, training, instructing, and work assignments.

 

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY 

  • Position has no fiscal responsibility.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Database Management or a related field.
  • At least three (3) years of related work experience, such as experience working with complex database systems or providing technical support for an EAM or ERP system, especially in a transit environment.
  • Prior experience with Infor Financials and Supply Management (FSM) and/or Hexagon Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities may be considered.

  • Database tools and applications such as: Microsoft 365, SQL, Microsoft Exchange, Crystal Reports, Infor Financial and Supply Management (FSM), Hexagon Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Fleetwatch, ADP, etc.
  • Cloud applications, Software as a Service (SaaS), Single Sign-on, Azure, and AWS.
  • English grammar, spelling, punctuation.
  • Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

  • Will work in a normal office environment. Will sometimes be required to work and/or attend meetings or events in public and at all RideKC locations.
  • Monday through Friday 8am until 5pm.
  • Occasional abnormal hours are expected and required for specific events and to reach all employees.

 

TRAVEL   

  • Occasional travel within the metropolitan area may be required.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This position requires occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards and requires medium physical effort. Incumbents may be required to exert up to up to 35 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
