JOB SUMMARY: 

This Tax Manager role is a key team resource with strong technical knowledge able to lead and assist in various tax areas.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and prepare federal and state income tax returns
  • Review federal and state estimated tax payments
  • Review and prepare income tax provisions in accordance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS
  • Assist with various tax research and projects
  • Partner with entity controllers to identify tax opportunities and risks
  • Tax research and other special projects
  • Training and mentoring of staff
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5 or more years of corporate tax experience
  • CPA required, public accounting experience preferred
  • Private industry and manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Significant state tax return compliance experience, including large unitary/consolidated state filings
  • Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify and initiate process improvements
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Detail oriented
  • ASC 740 reporting experience
  • Ability to effectively research technical tax issues
  • Experience with tax compliance and provision software (Corptax preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
  • Effective verbal and written communications, including active listening skills, problem solving skills and presentation skills
  • Continuously searching for the most efficient processes to improve tax operations
  • Ability to work independently, with latitude for initiative and independent judgment
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines

 

TRAVEL:

 

  • Occasional travel to affiliate locations

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and communicate verbally and in writing. Manual dexterity and coordination are required to operate standard office equipment such as computer keyboard, calculator, and printer.  Work will be performed in an open office environment with cubicles.
