The Surgical Team at the Henderson Hospital provides peri-operative care to a critical and acute adult patient population. In this exciting and dynamic environment, our team supports tertiary and regional programs providing both inpatient and same day surgery and is the host hospital for the Regional Cancer Centre


As a member of the healthcare team, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the coordination and evaluation of patient care within the Operating Room. The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to meet patient needs and guides/directs and works with the multidisciplinary team in meeting those needs.

1. Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse 
2. Peri-operative Certification 
3. Current BCLS certification 
4. Relevant (2 years) Operating Room experience in a tertiary care facility (not more then 2 years since last experience) 
5. Demonstrated skill and ability in opthalmology, orthopedics, general adult, oncological surgery, plastics, gynecology, urology and dentistry/dental 
6. Demonstrated knowledge of patient care requirements and peri-operative standards in the assessment and management of adult surgical patients
