Job Summary:

Our growing organization currently has an opportunity for a professional individual to fill the role of Intermediate Desktop Systems Specialist. In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of all computer workstations, associated software, and all printers within the office building. The Intermediate Desktop Systems Specialist will be one of the main points of contact for those employees who are experiencing issues with computer equipment. Job Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities for the Intermediate Desktop Systems Specialist may include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Assist employees with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of system hardware and software
  • Offer daily operations and systems support to employees
  • Verify the functionality of hardware and software components
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remotely, and via phone
  • Research questions using available information and resources
  • Follow standard Service Desk procedures
  • Log all Service Desk interactions
  • Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention
  • Stay current with system information, changes, and updates
  • A drive to learn and maintain key service desk applications such as SCCM, VMWare Horizon Client, etc.
  • Resolution of less complex cases with little supervision
  • Follow an on-call schedule for after-hours issues 
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Working Onsite is a requirement; we work the 9/80 schedule

Required Qualification:

  • Must have or be able to obtain an active US DoD Secret clearance
  • 3+ years of experience in an IT setting as a Desktop Support Specialist or equivalent
  • Experience with Active Directory
  • Hands-on technical knowledge of relevant technologies, including Microsoft Operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, and suites, etc.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment with poise and great customer service and ability to prioritize a high work load
  • Knowledge of service ticket systems
  • Be able to work the required schedule onsite and on-call as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional customer service orientation
  • Problem analysis and problem solving
  • Oral and written communications
  • Knowledge of Azure, VMWare/Vsphere, O365/Intune a plus
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field

 

Full-Time Equivalent Annual Salary Range: $41,800 - $83,600 for a Level II at Oxnard CA USA.

The disclosed salary range is a general guideline for Mercury team members employed at the job level at the location listed above and does not include overtime for eligible hourly employees. 

 

 

This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
