Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Vendor Management Manager to join our Financial Services team in Cypress, CA. The Vendor Management Manager will be responsible for the management and oversight of the YMFC, YMFC-US and YMFC-CA vendor management programs along with supervision of the day-to-day responsibilities of the YMFC Vendor Management Department.
What you’ll be doing:
- Oversee YMFC, YMFC-US and YMFC-CA (North America) vendor management programs to ensure quality of service and compliance with SLAs, policies, procedures, and applicable laws/regulations.
- Supervise, Manage, develop, coach and motivate direct reports to ensure compliance with vendor management program duties.
Manage the vendor risk assessment scorecard process/function, including ensuring the completion of all scorecards, onboarding and reviewing documentation for all new vendor prospects, and annually complete due diligence reviews on all critical relationships. - Provide reporting to executive and senior management concerning vendor proposals, contract renewals and annual reviews; oversee Vendor Management Committees for applicable YMFC entities, including preparation and maintenance of necessary committee records.
- Manage the development and maintenance of vendor performance metrics including an inventory list of all vendors with most recent risk assessment scores, review dates, contract expiration dates and tracking of due diligence documents.
- Oversee Vendor Management team’s collaboration with applicable business units and internal stakeholders, including Legal & Compliance, and YMUS InfoSec to ensure key elements of contracts align with legal/regulatory and YMFC/YMFC-US/YMFC-CA requirements. Assist the Business unit in negotiating pricing.
- Supervise, conduct, and monitor independent research on vendor service issues and lead the Vendor Management team’s efforts with business users, compliance/legal team, and risk department to develop remediation plans and present recommendations to leadership team.
- Oversee and conduct audits and results analyses, and develop recommendations by team members to address gaps, and present to senior management.
- Provide project management support including development of Request for Proposals (RFPs) for implementations of new systems, enhancements, and/or conversions.
- Interface with Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis groups to ensure accurate financial reporting by servicing vendors.
- Initiate strategic and day-to-day enterprise initiatives, including programs/projects for the Retail, Wholesale, Commercial Finance, Risk and Marketing Divisions.
Decision-Making Responsibility:
- High degree of autonomy in the management of the day-to-day responsibilities of the YMFC, YMFC-NA (US/CA) vendor management programs, vendor management programs, including effectively identifying, developing, and managing the best possible set of vendors to support business needs.
- Supervision of the Vendor Management Department personnel.
What you’ll need to be successful:
• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of vendor management experience required. Automobile/Power Sports Industry experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of managing vendor projects, leading negotiations, and managing contract life cycles
• Experience in developing and publishing MIS reports and vendor scorecards is required. Financial analysis experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Project and PowerPoint is required. Understanding of data bases and SQL preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Effective communication skills, including experience in presenting to senior management teams.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Able to understand contract risks and to work with other parts of the organization in crafting tactics and strategies for risk mitigation.

Pay:
$71,000 to $135,000
Yamaha intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related experience. Base pay is part of Yamaha’s Total Reward program, our Talent Acquisition Team will share more details as candidates progress.
