Position Description Summary

Rohadfox Construction Management is seeking an Assistant Program Safety Manager II. The Assistant Safety Manager works with contractors, Client inspection, the Project Management Team, and others to ensure assigned projects are implementing effective safety programs and meeting the requirements of the contract documents with regards to safety and security. The pay range begins at $80.50 (plus) DOE. Hours are 6AM-2:30PM 

Essential Job Duties

Ability to:

1. Work with Contractor Safety Team, Client Inspection Team, Project Management Team, and others in order to ensure assigned projects are  implementing effective safety programs.

2. Walk all assigned projects on a regular basis and possibly multiple times daily which can total a few miles a day.

3. Engage with the Client ADG Safety platform to perform Task Hazard Analysis audits and report safety observations.

4. Meet with Inspectors and other stakeholders regarding safety concerns and follow-up actions taken by the contractor.

5. Review written Safety Plans and verify results of safety performance and compliance in the field on an ongoing basis to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation.

6. Assist the Project/Construction Manager to verify that contractors comply with written documentation requirements including weekly "toolbox" meetings, new employee orientation, daily safety inspection reports, any accident/incident and related investigation reports, provision of" competent" or authorized persons documentation including training records and Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs).

7. Be self-motivated individual who can research pertinent requirements not readily available.

8. Attend Project Progress and Project Safety Committee meetings as directed to monitor the ongoing safety eff ort of the Construction Manager and contractor.

9. Attend and participated in Construction Safety Advisory Council Meetings, as directed by the Program Safety Manager.

10. Ability to write clear and effective reports.

11. Attend and participate in the Monthly All-Hands Safety Meeting to discuss general program safety concerns and successes as well as present updates and information on safety regulations and requirements including a monthly training program component on related safety subject matt er.

12. Coordinate with management to promote the proactive and behavior-based ADG Safety Program both internally and externally (e.g., National Safety Council, trade and professional organizations, etc.) and to bring positive publicity to the program and ADG.

13. Contribute to the advancement of ADG's goals through commitment to productive collaboration with all stakeholders.

14. Ability to multi -task and prioritize competing responsibilities.

Hardware/Software Knowledge

1. Effectively use Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro software.

2. Large-scale construction management software such as Prolog, VEO, Procore, PMWeb, and other computer software and applications as needed.

3. Create PowerPoint presentations.

Education/Training/Professional Experience:

1. High school diploma (or equivalent)

2. Supervisory experience of other safety professionals

3. Ability to multi -task and prioritize competing responsibilities

4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Bi-lingual a plus)

5. Solid people skills with professional demeanor

6. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate safety policies and practices

7. Must have analytical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities

8. Must be able to write reports based on safety observations, incorporate photos, and distribute

9. Balanced approach to technical, business and people aspects of business

10. The Assistant Safety Manager II must at a minimum have an active Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) a Construction Health and Safety Technician certification or better.

11. Five years of vertical, tunnel, or heavy civil construction experience.

Element-Specific Requirements:

1. May assume other duties as required/needed

2. May be required to work past regular work shift and to come in on a regular day off and during regular off hours.

3. May be required to start a regular shift at any time of day or night

4. May be required to start a regular work week any day of the week

5. Will be required to conduct Cal OSHA training to staff and others—Cal OSHA authorized instructor within 6 months of hire.

6. May be required to provide CPR/1st Aid Training

7. Will be required to pass the federal background check and obtain a Badge with RACCI, Customs, and Driver icons

8. Will be required a vehicle that can access the AOA.

9. Must live within commuting distance of work location

Key Performance Indicators

1.Project walks with contractors, inspection, and others per week

2. Quality of PSM Weekly Safety Reports, Observations, submittal reviews and or feedback provided

3. Engagement (monitor and feedback) with staff —inspection and PM/CM staff.

4. Coaching and training of staff —inspection and PM/CM staff.

5. Continuing education/training completed

6. Timeliness in reviewing PSM reports

7. Engagement with project team

8. Regular and recurring communication

9. Effectively addressing safety concerns

10. Escalating concerns as necessary
