Electrical / Automation Engineering Intern
Overview
CAM is seeking anElectrical/Automation Engineering Intern to support our Automation &Controls group in Houston. This position is ideal for students interested incontrols, instrumentation, and industrial automation within energy andinfrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with PLC, SCADA, and DCS configuration and testing under engineer supervision.
- Support the preparation of I/O lists, control panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
- Participate in FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) and commissioning activities where possible.
- Help review vendor drawings and technical documentation.
- Learn applicable standards (ISA, IEC, NFPA) and assist in applying them.
- Contribute to maintaining project files and documentation systems.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
- Coursework in controls, instrumentation, or automation preferred.
- Exposure to PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) or SCADA systems a plus.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and interest in field applications.
