Location: HQ: Nashville-based, non-remote with project-based travel
Job Description:
As a Carpenter/Fabricator (Store Support), you will be our frontline support for carpentry-related issues within our retail locations. Primarily, you will be responsible for the fabrication and queue of requested parts/items in the TEG Shop. The travel portion of your role will consist of performing on-site maintenance in our 50+ stores on both planned and emergency trips. You will also assist the team with creating our standard repair documentation, training materials, and guide the stores to complete their own repairs.
Hours & Schedule:
Expected Weekly Hours: 40 - 45, with more on occasion.
Travel Expectations: As needed
Expected Schedule:
Office: Assigned weekly schedule based on demand w/ 2 off days.
This can include dayshifts, midshifts, or nightshifts.
Pre-planned travel can include multiple locations back-to-back.
Emergency Travel: As needed, may include nights & weekends with extended hours
Oncall: Yes, 100%.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Traveling to TEG stores to perform on-site maintenance. Some examples of what this could include:
Trim Repair - Chair-rail, Wainscotting, baseboard, cove base, etc.
Drywall Repair, Paint Touch Ups, and Full Game Repainting/Scenic Treatment
Carpentry Repair Restoration Work - Wood putty / Bondo w/ Sanding, Refinishing, etc.
Helping guide our in-store maintenance plan through the creation of how-to documents and videos, standard inventory lists, and working on calls with Product Care to guide local stores on remote repairs.
Fabrication - including CNC Operation painting, staining, finishing, casting, sculpting, carpentry, 3D printing, Vinyl Cutting, Welding, and refurbishing older items for redeployment.
**Some of the skills above, without prior experience, can be taught.**
Job Requirements:
2+ years of experience as a carpenter
Extensive knowledge of a wide range of fabrication practices and treatments
2+ years of experience using hand tools/power tools.
2+ years of experience using shop power tools
Ability to travel frequently via plane, train, and car.
Must have a valid driver’s license. *Must have a Real ID or a valid passport.*
Willingness to learn more skills and increase your knowledge base.
Experience leading others in an informal structure
Ability to lift/carry up to 100 pounds individually
Able to stand, walk, climb ladders, and navigate tight spaces for extended periods of time
Moderate experience with computers and basic software, including Google Suite, Zoom, and PDF editors
A love for escape rooms and interactive media
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Contagiously positive, can-do attitude
