- Title: Driver/ Team Member, Shipping & Receiving
- Location: Library Service Center - CMCA Shipping and Receiving Department
- Hours: Full Time
- Schedule: Monday - Friday (7am-3:30pm), Some weekends if needed
- Starting Hourly Rate: $18.90
- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

A successful candidate will…
- The Team Member receives deliveries, loads trucks, drives (non CLD Driver) routine routes to library locations, performs deliveries and pickup of materials, equipment and mail at library locations
- Unloads and unpacks skids of new library collection materials
- Performs other miscellaneous deliveries and pickups
- Able to work the normally scheduled work time for this position
- Able to cope with daily job-related stress
- Able to work independently without direct supervision
- Able to work as a member of a team to achieve the goals of the department
- Have a safe driving record
Functions:
- DELIVERY AND PICKUP
- Loads truck at Library Service Center (LSC) with materials sorted for delivery to library locations, includes mail bag/tote with each delivery
- Delivers library materials, mail and supplies to the branches and shared system locations
- Picks up library material and mail at the branches and shared system locations, for delivery and sorting at LSC
- Picks up discarded material from branches and donated items from residences, and delivers to the book sale
- Picks up and delivers bank deposits for different departments
- Picks up and delivers auction items, equipment or other special pickups for redistribution at each library location
- Picks up the mail at designated Postal facilities
- Delivers full extra-large recycling bins to recycling facilities, picks up and delivers empty bins to LSC
- Sorts incoming interoffice and postal mail
- Processes outgoing mail for USPS and UPS using the software program and postal meter
- SORT LIBRARY MATERIALS
- Sorts library material from branches and shared system locations using the automated materials handling (AMH) machine and manual conveyors, ensuring sorted material is placed in correct orientation on induction belt, changes totes to be delivered based on sort profile, follows correction procedures as needed
- Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting on AMH machine
- Trains and coaches new and contracted employees on AMH operation and procedures
- RECEIVING
- Receives, date skid(s), unloads and distributes new book shipments, supply shipments, drive-up donations and other miscellaneous material.
- UNPACK SHIPMENTS
- Lifts boxes of incoming orders from floor pallets to the conveyor, sorts and marks boxes by date and shipment groups, and verifies vendor shipments
- Unpacks library materials, check for defects, verify totals/quantities of titles against invoices and packing lists and arranges materials onto conveyor pallets and into crates
- Works with processing team to move unpacked materials from Shipping/Receiving to CMSA
- Maintains daily production and weekly workflow records
- BOOKSALE
- Delivers totes and boxes of discards from library locations to designated areas in the LSC book sale area.
- Moves full donation bins into the book sale area
- Removes empty totes after book sale volunteer sessions
- Assists with removal of book sale leftover materials
- Assists with unpacking, sorting of branch discards for book sale volunteers
- ROOM SETUP
- Sets up meeting rooms at LSC, including arranging tables and chairs based on provided floor plan diagram.
- CLEAN-UP AND RECYCLING
- Breaks down cardboard boxes for recycling, from unpacking and the book sale
- Removes and replaces recycle bins as needed for unpacking and the book sale or other special projects
- Disposes of all recycling and trash from unpacking shipments
- Keeps all work areas, including vehicles and garage, stocked, organized, and clean
- Able to work the normally scheduled work time for this position
- Able to cope with daily job-related stress
- Able to work independently without direct supervision
- Able to work as a member of a team to achieve the goals of the department
