We are looking for a driven Manufacturing Manager to join our leadership team and help oversee daily operations at our Pontiac facility.
Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for leading our thermoforming, automation and maintenance teams to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production. This role requires a strong background in manufacturing management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement across all areas of production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day production operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity goals are met
- Manage and develop a team of supervisors and production staff
- Implement lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor production schedules, staffing, and resources to optimize efficiency
- Develop, manage and monitor departmental KPIs, and present to team at quarterly Management review
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve issues and improve processes
- Track and report key performance metrics, including output, downtime, and labor efficiency
- Support cost reduction initiatives and budget management for plant operations
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership, preferably within plastics, automotive, or related industries
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methods
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Automation a plus
- Experience in thermoforming a plus
- Experience in the packaging industry a plus
Benefits:
- Starting Pay: $90,000 – 110,000 (based on experience)
