About the Role:

The Poult CDL Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and safe transportation of non-durable goods,young live turkeys, within and beyond the Hinton, VA area. This position requires operating commercial vehicles to deliver poults efficiently while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. The driver will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the cargo, managing delivery schedules, and providing excellent customer service during interactions. This role demands a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate various routes effectively . 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle class being operated.
• Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
• Ability to pass DOT physical examination and drug screening.
• Proven experience operating commercial vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
• Knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience driving within the non-durable goods manufacturing or related industries.
• Familiarity with GPS and route planning software.
• Strong customer service skills and professional communication abilities.
• Ability to perform minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting

Responsibilities:

• Operate commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated farms
• Plan routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing fuel and time efficiency.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
• Maintain accurate logs of working hours, vehicle inspections, and delivery records in accordance with DOT regulations
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during all driving activities.

The required skills for this role include proficient vehicle operation, route planning, and adherence to safety regulations, which are essential for daily driving and delivery tasks. Effective communication skills are used to coordinate with dispatch and customers, ensuring smooth delivery processes and resolving any issues promptly. Attention to detail is critical when inspecting vehicles and handling cargo to maintain safety and product integrity. Preferred skills such as familiarity with GPS technology and electronic logging devices enhance efficiency and compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, customer service skills contribute to positive interactions and uphold the company’s reputation during deliveries.
