The Community Program Manager is responsible for managing community troops and series programming across the Philadelphia region during the school year and in the summer. This includes all aspects of community organization/school onboarding, communication, documentation, training, monitoring and support throughout their community troop and series experience. Additionally, this position will support the logistics (documentation/communication) of community troops and series programming in other regions of the council. 

The Community Program Manager will be responsible for ensuring school/organizational satisfaction with our partnership and programming and a strong, outcomes-based experience for girls in our community troop and series programming.  

Additionally, this staff member will serve as the facilitator for a number of community programs including both troops and series in Philadelphia. Approximately 50% of the staff time will be direct service and program implementation. 

 

Essential Qualifications for this position:  

 

  • 5 years or more of experience in program implementation and/or project management
  • Experience and understanding of supporting people and work with a focus on DEI.
  • Experience in managing or working with volunteers.
  • Valid driver’s license, car, and proof of current insurance.
  • Experience leading work with a focus on budgets and perform metrics. 
  • Computer skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience working with databases. Use of Salesforce and Looker a plus.
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Education – Bachelor’s Degree preferred, can be substituted for professional experience.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience: 

  • Demonstrated ability in planning, management, and supervision of complex projects.  
  • Ability to implement programming with groups of school-aged children.
  • Process-oriented, experience implementing system wide improvements
  • Ability to lead groups and build consensus in a diverse setting
  • Multi-level data management and reporting 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and manage time efficiently.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to take ownership and responsibility for all performance related goals.
  • Willing to work weekends and nights as necessary.

 

Other: 

 

  • Hours of Work: office and meeting participation as required during regular office hours (M-F; hybrid schedule), evening and weekend hours expected  
  • This is a full-time position (35 hours/week) 
  • Some travel required
  • Maintain Membership as a registered Girl Scout
