The Office Assistant, Institutional Research is a Federal Work Study position for LCCC students. This individual provides administrative support to IR staff. Some core responsibilities include designing and completing spreadsheets, producing summary tables and graphs, managing Microsoft Office flow processes, and other general office tasks as needed.
Compensation: $13.99/hr.
Priority Screening Date: Position is open until filled.
Starting Date: As soon as practical after the hiring process.
Position Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: – this position is non-exempt and is eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA. This listing of essential duties is not all-inclusive, but representative, other duties may be assigned).
- Supports the IR office staff by assisting with the management of regular administrative and business flow processes, following directions to build and edit tables and graphs, and editing written reports and data visualizations.
- Enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of the IR office in serving stakeholders by collaborating with IR staff to streamline business flow operations and update data management practices using Microsoft Office Suite.
Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional needs.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:- While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities
- There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor
- An employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
- The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be instances of somewhat loud environments.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a currently enrolled Federal Work Study eligible LCCC student.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a data- or research-related program of study (i.e., social sciences, computer science, AI, data analytics, economics, etc.)
