Summary

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the administration of HR policies and procedures in NDS’ manufacturing facilities, as well as assisting the Director of Human Resources in the development of programs which address the organizational development/effectiveness of the company, as well other human resources initiatives which enhance the organizational capability of the company and its employees.

Responsibilities

  • Coaches managers and supervisors on the handling of all employee relations issues.
  • Partners and acts as a trusted advisor/business partner to management on all HR related business issues.
  • Conducts investigations as needed.
  • Leads culture strategy/initiatives/programs for site.
  • Recommends organizational development programs and initiatives that complement the strategic business objectives of NDS.
  • Assist in the design of training programs that build the leadership and management skills of NDS employees.
  • Attends plant site leadership meetings and maintains HR related boards as necessary.
  • May train employees on various business related topics
  • Ensures employment laws are complied with and makes improvements where necessary.
  • Works with HR Director, management, and temporary staffing agency/recruiters with the recruitment of new employees for both full time and temporary positions.
  • Provides feedback to the HR Director on all human resources issues.
  • Creates and maintains job descriptions for all locations.
  • Maintains confidential records for the NDS’ employees.
  • Oversees payroll functions
  • Assists with the administration of employee benefits –recommend plan design changes, if necessary.
  • Works with Safety Coordinator to ensure a team approach to employee safety throughout all NDS facilities
  • Assists HR Director with ongoing projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  •  Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in a Human Resources capacity from a generalist perspective, coupled with a minimum of three years HR management experience.
  • Strong knowledge about how a corporate culture is a strategic differentiator.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Leads by example and lives the NDS Core Values and Accountability culture—is passionate with being ambassador of culture strategy.
  • Will have the ability to work in a fast paced environment, pay close attention to detail and maintain a high level of professionalism and energy.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations 
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office) and detail-orientated with data/reports.
  • Strong with planning processes, objectives and strategies to meet company targets.
  • Strong time management skills to handle daily tasks/requests.
  • Previous experience in working in a Manufacturing environment is required.
  • Previous experience with process improvement programs/systems is a plus.
  • Fluency in writing and speaking in the Spanish language is required.
  • PHR or SPHR a plus
